WELCOME TO HYDRAULIC TRAILER OWNERS ASSOCIATION

Indian economy is all set to move rapidly forward. This will propel the growth in various sectors of infrastructure like Roads, Ports, Power, , Refinery and Metro Rail, etc. With the increase in demand for infrastructural growth, Hydro, Nuclear and Thermal power plants in particular are planned in a big way in different parts of the country. This has led to transportation of Over Weight Consignments (OWC) from factory/port to project sites. These OWCs are to be transported through existing roads and bridges which are originally designed for standard IRC Roads.

To meet the demand of industries for carrying heavy loads Hydraulic axle trailers were introduced in India in way back 1980 and the first unit was imported in the year from Europe followed few more foreign brands like Goldhofer, Nicolus and Scheuerle, Cometto by Heavy Lift Transport Operators and subsequently few Indian Manufacturers started manufacturing and selling in indian market to avoid dependency on overseas manufacturers saving valuable foreign exchange . Today we have over 10000 hydraulic axle trailers in the market and over 100 owners and operators of hydraulic trailers in India and making major contribution for the economic growth of the country by moving heavy machineries from various locations to project site. Packages weighing from 35 MT to 800t being moved on hydraulic trailers on Indian Roads safely and on time. Even higher weights upto 5000 MT being moved on self propelled modular hydraulic trailers for short distances in the country and we can proudly say that our operators have in house expertise, technical know how and resources to move packages of any size, weight and any destination.

When the hydraulic axle trailers were imported for the first time they were registered under special category with few conditions under Motor Vehicles act 1939 and it continued till now. Since the Act was passed in the year1982 and there are improved roads and bridges and the Project owners have the requirement of moving higher loads due to increased capacity of the plant it was felt necessary to bring all the hydraulic axle owners on a single platform to address the grievances of members for hassle free movement of heavy lifts giving utmost importance to safety and seek the support of the Government.
